 Heather and John have been life-long citizens of Sudbury and now, the City of Greater Sudbury. They have seen the successes and growth of this city and know that these have come on the backs of hard-working, industrious people. Many of those people are approaching their senior years and it is time for them to reap the rewards of their hard work. In order to take full advantage of this, their health and well-being is of utmost importance.
Heather has been a registered nurse for over 28 years and her extensive work as a visiting, VON nurse has always been her first passion. Caring for the sick and elderly in the comfort of their own home just made so much sense.
Although Heather has expanded her skills in several other areas of nursing, she has come back to her love of providing care to seniors and giving them the means to remain in their homes for as long as they desire. In addition to this, Heather feels that in today’s fragmented health care system, the benefits of “continuity of care” are becoming lost. Caregivers are increasingly challenged to balance, managing their hectic lives with spending enough time to care for their loved ones; all at the risk of burning themselves out. Heather wants to assist both caregivers and seniors in this struggle.
With the support of her husband John, a 22 year veteran of the City of Greater Sudbury Fire Service, Heather will provide quality nursing and health care for both seniors and their caregivers. Heather and John are very proud to support Sudbury Seniors in their desire to remain independent in their own homes.

Mrs. Martin founded Retire-At-Home with the philosophy that quality care must address both the emotional and the physical health of an individual. It has been shown that the healing process is accelerated when they are emotionally healthy.
